The Library - Tennyson's second study built in 1871 underwent a major programme of restoration completed in the summer 2009 in time for our first of many exhibitions, "Tennyson at Farringford", mounted in celebration of Tennyson's bicentenary. Our first exhibition, guest curated by Veronica Franklin Gould, showed many important items from a wide variety of sources that brought to life the Tennyson household. Due to the generosity of many lenders, both institutions and private collectors, we managed to produce an exhibition that truly reflects Tennyson's years at Farringford while giving insight into the many important visitors he attracted.
