It is an exciting time here at Farringford. With all the necessary planning permission now in place we are three months into the first phase of restoration works to the main house. A temporary roof has been placed over the main section of the house to protect it from the elements while work continues on the main roof and the flat roof over the dining room. This important work will ensure that the house’s future is secure for generations to come.

The scaffolding will come down in the first week of June. The ongoing restoration to the interior of the house to continue throughout the summer months will be unnoticeable from outside, however, the house will be closed at this time. Once restoration is complete the principal rooms will be opened up for public enjoyment and use in a manner sensitive to its important history, and associated use as a family home.

For more information on this and the rest of the goings on at the house please visit the Tennyson site and the restoration blog
